Job Description

Capita India is seeking software delivery professionals with a proven track record in working on large software developments to work in an exciting new IT delivery organisation in Andehri responsible for delivering a new Life and Pensions software solution into it’s UK clients. The successful applicants should have at least 8 years experience in delivering IT systems and have at least 3 years proven Project or Programme Management skills. The roles available will be responsible for the management of teams of between 10 and 50 software engineers and strong Project Management, Project Lifecycle and People Management skills are essential.

Owning the programme : Sets up programme processes. Works as part of the Capita management team. Ensures that Capita delivers on time against its commitments.

Managing relationships : Creates partnerships with customers. Sets up and attends the programme board. Builds and manages relationships with key individuals. Proactively deals with potential personal and business problems. Obtains customer agreement to the strategic goals and objectives of the programme.

Planning the programme : Documents, monitors and achieves expected business benefits. Ensures projects conform to agreed architecture. Manages pre-contract stage so that new proposals result in successful projects. Ensures the risk plans, timescales and project costs are underwritten. Maintains or improves programme margins

Manages Change : Maintains a programme plan to identify phases of the programme and show project interdependencies. Reviews projects. Produces programme progress reports as necessary. Puts appropriate configuration management and change control processes in place. Plans ahead to ensure smooth hand over at the completion of each project. Manages changes to the programme scope, finances and timescales effectively.

Manages risks : Identifies and manages risks Maintains effective risk containment and contingency plans.

Managing finances : Produces and maintains a programme budget. Responsible for programme profit and loss. Identifies opportunities for enhancing Capita revenue by providing additional services within the programme

Managing Managers : Responsible for those managing projects within the programme. Manages resource use across competing projects. Maintains relationships across the core team of staff. Appraises them as necessary and supports their development.
